During the installation process be sure to only install Coldfusion to the Default Web only, and not "ALL". Otherwise it will be installed for all sites instead of having Plesk add/remove them for you.

After installation you may get an error message:

HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL
set on the requested resource

This is due to that fact that Coldfusion's installation on Windows do not add the IIS worker process and the IUSER to the runtime files.

To fix this add the users IIS_WPG and psacln (Plesk IUSR Group) or add IUSR_SERVERNAME (if this is a Windows server with only 1 site without Plesk) to the directory:

[CFusionMX7 root]\runtime\lib\wsconfig

Also add Read Write access for the IIS_WPG user or you may get a "Recursion too deep; the stack overflowed." error.

1. Where do I upload my access database files (*.mdb) and how do I setup it up in Plesk?

2. I uploaded my file into the /private directory but I keep getting a permissions error. How do I setup proper permissions for my access file?
For MS Access database files, it is advisable to upload it on the same level as httpdocs.

First, Create a directory called db or you can use the private directory.

For DSN connection setup:

1. Goto your Plesk control panel and select "ODBC Settings"
2. Click "Add New ODBC DSN"
3. From here select access database and give it a DSN name.
4. For path use "C:/Inetpub/vhosts/domainame.com/db/dbfilename.mdb"
- (replace domainname.com with your domain name and dbfilename.mdb with your actual file name)
- Also note some server paths may be different. Please contact our support for the actual path for your server.
5. Once done, please contact our support so that we may edit the permission for you. If you are on a VPS, you can simply Remote Desktop into your VPS and add the IUSR to permit the proper access to your file.

For direct file name connection simply skip the DSN step above.

If you still have problems connecting to your database file, please submit a ticket to our support center.

Plesk control panel problem, 'Service Unavailable'
If you look at the logs and see there is cmd.exe permission errors, Plesk Reconfigurator will not work correctly since the permissions are not correct.

Such error occurs when Plesk Control Panel web server service can not access to C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe (also to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cmd.exe on 64bit Windows version). This may happen when administrator manually changes permissions on file system. User SERVICE should have Read+Execute; Read on the file.

The following permissions should be set on cmd.exe to make server work properly:

* Administrators - Full Control
* System - Full Control
* Service - Read+Execute; Read
* Interactive - Read+Execute; Read

Also make sure that file owner is administrator, otherwise you can not change these permissions. File owner you can check on file Properties > Security tab > Advanced button > Owner tab

**Run Reconfigurator again after if not working **

I am developing my ASP.NET application in Visual Studio 2008 and need ASP.NET 3.5 support. Do you support it?
Yes we do. All our Windows servers have ASP.NET 3.5 installed. However, you will be using the ASP.NET 2.0 tab to manage your application. Here is a more detailed explaination:

As for ASP.NET 3.5, it is still based on the ASP.NET 2.0 core fundamental. Therefore, there is no new application type(for ASP.NET 3.5) in IIS as it still uses the 2.0 one.

And when you developing ASP.NET 3.5 application(which use those 3.5 specific features such as AJAX or LINQ), Visual Studio 2008 will help you add the proper assemblies reference in project and those assemblies are the most important things to help you deal with 3.5 stuffs. And when deploying to IIS, you still use 2.0 version tab to configure it.
