Using the web browser to FTP files with users you created
Posted by Administrator on 24 December 2009 10:48 PM
When FTP users are created with our shared hosting plans, ie, (Basic and Standard Plan) they have a different login where it is setup as username@domainname.com.

The way to access FTP from your browser would be: ftp://username:password@domainname.com

In this example we will use the following:

username: username@domainname.com
password: password
domain name: domainname.com

This example would be setup: ftp://username@domainname.com:password@domainname.com

This works fine with Firefox, but with Internet Explorer this causes problems with the '@' and '.' symbols. A few small changes need to be made (like replacing the first @ with %40), but both methods will work for Firefox.
Internet Explorer 7:

Don't open IE7, instead click My Computer on desktop then type in Address line the following:

ftp://user@domain.com

replacing user with your actual username and domain.com with your actual domain name

Firefox

ftp://user@domain.com
